waiting to be discharged

I filed for bankruptcy Aug. 2006. But I have not received by discharge papers yet. What does it mean? I am a first time bankrupt.

Unfortunately, you are asking the wrong people – you should contact your trustee and ask them why you have not been discharged.

Normally, if you are not automatically discharged in 9 months it means you have failed to perform one of your required duties properly. Your trustee will be able to tell you what still needs to be done in order to complete your bankruptcy.
