Bankruptcy when not employed

Can I file for bankruptcy if I am not employed? I am slowly drowning trying to keep up with payments for credit cards and lines of credit.

Certainly you may file, but you might want to wait until you find work. There is a cost associated with filing and I imagine right now things are pretty tight – are you sure you want to be spending money on a legal procedure right now?
