partial payment

I received a ten year sentence to pay creditors, live on pension and find it impossible to buy anything other than an existence. I got a ten year sentence and will be 76 before I can get credit again. What happens if I only pay part of the required payment? As long as I am trying my best, does this count for anything?

To answer this I would need to know what this sentence was a result of. Did your creditors simply sue and obtain a judgement, was this the result of an opposed bankruptcy? Until we have more of these details I simply am not in a position to answer these questions.
