Soon to be a US Resident
I have recently hit a financial bottom here in Canada and have considered and consulted bankruptcy in Canada
My situation is that now I reside in the US and it makes me wonder, if Canadian Banks will even bother with collection or garnishments here in the US.
I have managed to clear all my bills before I left the country, and recently have not found employment to cover my bank loans which now are in default.
thanks

There are no international treaties on debt and/or debt collections. If you are leaving any assets in Canada or if you have Canadian assets or income in the future your Canadian creditors will have the right to pursue them. If you leave and never return, there will be very little anyone can do about your debts…
