Free at last I think!

I have finished my bankruptcy, my discharge certificate is on the way to me. What do I do now? I have car payments that reports my payments to the bureau every few months, I plan on getting a secured visa card. I have nothing to my name. I don’t know if I can find a place to live with my children now! What do I do to get back on my feet?

Impossible Dream

It’s not really an “impossible dream” and we get asked your question quite a lot. The best suggestion I can give you is to either book an appointment to meet with your trustee or the person that provided your credit counseling sessions. In 5 or 10 minutes they can suggest a few options for you to consider to rebuild your credit after bankruptcy.

The single biggest factor will be time – most people can begin to access unsecured credit in 3 or 4 years after their bankruptcy is over. The higher your income the shorter the waiting period will be.
