Inheritance
My husband and I declared bankruptcy. It was his first time and my second. He has been discharged for almost a year and I’am still in it. He may be receiving a inheritance, because he is discharged does my situation affect him in any way or can this money remain his.

If you receive any sort of windfall during the period of time that you remain an undischarged bankrupt then the money you are entitled to will be seized by your trustee for the benefit of your creditors.
So, if a relative dies and leaves you some money in thier will, that money will be paid to your trustee instead of you. Once your debts and fees have been paid in full, any remaining money will be returned to you.
This happens more often than people might think – we see it about once every 3 to 6 months in the people that we help.
