business and personal bankruptcy

Over the last 6 month serious health issues have led to the part time hours of our business resulting in major finacial issues both business and personal. We are trying to sell our house hoping to cover a portion of debts still owed. We have a cottage that we sold 4 months ago and that money is now gone all RRSP have been cashed I have nothing left. If I declare bankruptcy I was told that because we sold the cottage and cashed in the RRSP that we will have problems. And should or can i declare personal and business at the same time, the business is incorperated.

A licensed trustee said...

It is possible you will have problems, but since you used the money to pay debts, any issues will be minor. Since your situation is somewhat complicated, I suggest you contact a licensed trustee to review both your personal and corporate situation in more detail.
