Responsibilities not completed during Bankruptcy

I am bankrupt and now am at the end of my 9 month term. Due to some confusion, I did not attend my 2 counselling sessions. I also was giving the impression I could hand in my monthly report and fees at the end of my term all at once. Now an emergency arose where I had to spend the money saved for these payments. I am in the process moving and now every single dollar is spoking for. My trustee is opposing my discharge. Will I need to get a lawyer? Even if I cant afford one? Will they ask me for the whole amount? Even if I have absolutely no money?

I suggest you discuss this with your trustee. If you have not attended your counselling sessions, your trustee is required by law to oppose your discharge. I suggest you contact your trustee to make arrangements to attend your counselling sessions, and make payment arrangements with your trustee. You can hire a lawyer if you want, but normally you would just attend your discharge hearing on your own, and explain to the bankruptcy registrar how you plan to complete your duties. It is in your best interests to discuss this with your trustee prior to your hearing.
