Leaving Canada during bankruptcy.

Is it possible to leave Canada while the bankruptcy is in progress? After handing over all my non-exempt assets to the trustee (I do not recieve any income in Canada) can I leave? What else needs to be done for the next nine months?

Yes, you can leave Canada while you are bankrupt. However, there are a number of duties you must perform while you are bankrupt, so I would suggest you contact your trustee to make sure you complete your duties, which include providing proof of your income each month, attending two credit counselling sessions, and attending a creditor’s meeting if required.
