bankruptcy and student loans

i have been reading that if you file for bankruptcy or a consumer proposal and your student loans are not discharged you may apply to the courts to retro actively have them discharged when you have been out of school for 10 years. The reason i ask i have filed for bankrupcty and have just been discharged but my student loans are 7 yrs old. I still am having trouble making payments towards them. Or hopefully if bill C-55 does go through in june/july would i possibly be able to apply to the courts then??
