Vicitm of bankruptcy

Hello, Yesterday we discovered that the resort where we own a week of timeshare has gone bankrupt. We do not know exactly when this occurred, as we have never been notified and there is no one to answer our calls. We had about $13000 invested in this property. Do we have any recourse? What do we need to do?
The property is in Magog, Quebec.

A licensed trustee said...

You need to find out who was appointed trustee of the bankrupt company. You can do an Insolvency Name Search on-line for $8. Once a company is bankrupt, you can file a proof of claim with the trustee, but in most bankrupt companies the creditors get virtually nothing. The trustee can give you more information on this specific case.
