credit report

I have read that a bankruptcy stays on your credit report for 7 years . After the 7 years what is done? Does the credit reporting agencies delete information on your file. If you had no credit during the 7 years do you have a blank slate to start from . Do they just change your rating and leave the bankruptcy on your report? Does the bankruptcy haunt your credit for the rest of your life? I noticed on several credit applications they ask if you have ever gone bankrupt in the past. I assume if you say yes you are turned down.If you say no and you have declared bankrutcy (even if it was 20 years ago) you are committing some kind of fraud . If you could explain a little about how your credit report is affected by a bankruptcy, it would be great .thanks

It is always a good idea to review your credit report. I always suggest you pull a copy of your credit history annually to verify whether or not all the remarks are accurate or not.
