Credit Report after Bankruptcy

After being discharged, we were told by our trustee to wait 2 months before we submit for our credit reports with Equifax & TransCanada.

I submitted the paperwork by mail approx. 2 months ago and I still haven’t received anything.

Any suggestions what to do? I am a bit worried because of the confidential information you have to fill out and submit copies of Identification in order to mail.

A licensed trustee said...

We tell our clients the same thing – wait two or three months and then contact the credit bureau just to make certain that your paperwork has been processed by the government correctly.

If you’ve sent off the forms and haven’t heard anything then I suggest you call the credit bureaus and ask what has happened. Telephone numbers for the two largest credit bureaus can be found on their websites (www.consumer.equifax.ca/personal/ and http://www.transunion.ca).
