almost drowned with credit card debt

I have been accumulating debts for the last 4-5 years. I now owe about $70000. Some of my credit cards have been near their max for that whole time. It’s all credit card debt and they are 26000, 23000, 10000 and 9000. I have just been shuffling the balances around to keep up. I make about $50000. Should I just stop paying on them and file or keep paying and see about a proposal?

I think you should contact a trustee near you (use the links on the side of the page to find one) and ask for a consutlation. They will review your situation and discuss a couple of different options for you to consider.
