Bankruptcy generally is automatically dropped from a person’s credit report in seven years, so if a person went bankrupt in the 1950’s, the bankruptcy is no longer on their credit report. I would assume that since the person went bankrupt 40 years ago they have now been discharged, so I would assume that no further action is required no that the person has passed away.
