Need help here
Back in ’98, I started a bankruptcy, but did not finalize it. Today I have a sizeable debt owing to Revenue Canada but am able to pay. The agent is insisting on me filing bankruptcy to deal with this debt and I do not want to. What are my other options?

If you filed bankruptcy in 1998 and were not discharged, you are still bankrupt. You cannot go bankrupt again until you are discharged from your first bankruptcy.
Your options are:
1. contact your trustee and determine what is required to complete your first bankruptcy, and then go bankrupt again, or perhaps file a consumer proposal.
2. work out payment arrangements with CRA; if you have the ability to pay, this is the correct option.
