judgement
prairie grain advance payments act, in 1993 a loan against crop was undertaken, subsequently could not repay, ceased farming in 1994. family matters were such that machinery was left in care of remaining family who were to buy machinery, and or repay. legal action on behalf of cwb resulted in a judgement being awarded in 1996 against me. further the account was absorbed/taken over by revenue canada and they subsequently withold income tax refunds and any credits i woul have. as of september 2006 a search of alberta registries and court of Queens Bench showed no reissuance of any judgements against me. as of jan8/2007 a letter from rev canada states that they are still pursuing active witholding. can i ever get out from under this? i have very limited funds to repay, and the amount of recovery thus far is under 5000.00 on 487000.00 owing. i would like to get on with life , is it possible? how to proceed without resorting to bankruptcy, or if that is the option is it possible to ever get out of this?

It sounds as if your only possible alternatives to a bankruptcy is to try to file a proposal. This may allow you to negotiate a reduction on the principle and allow you to stretch the payments over a period of time. What you really need to do is contact a licensed trustee, have him explain how a proposal works, and with his help determine whether viable given your current financial circumstances.
