A licensed trustee said...

Strange question – there’s no time limit. You cannot file for bankruptcy a second time until your first procedure has been completed. People have been know to file again the next day.

I should warn you that in most regions of the country when you file bankruptcy for a second time you are required to attend in Court to explain yourself. The Court will then decide how long your second bankruptcy will last.

The folks that turn around and file again (say within the first couple of years) usually have some sort of penalty imposed by the Court.

Talk to a trustee in your area to find out what the local practice is.
