Bankruptcy in Alberta

I am a single mom of 3 children, we have a home, with enough equity to pay off my debts in their entirity, but the *collection agency* is refusing to allow me time to sell my house. I have tried to get an extension on the mortgage, but due to the *collection* against me, it has been refused. Please, what options do I have?

A consumer proposal may be a good mechanism to provide you the time you need. Essentially it would be written to pay the debts in full but allow for sufficient time for the house to sell.

I would recommend you contact a licensed trustee in your area and they would be able to help determine if this will provide the space you need.
