Prepaid Mastercard
I have just recently filed for bankruptcy and have a pre-paid mastercard through money mart that I didn`t advise my trustee of as I didn`t find it necessary. It is just that..prepaid..there is no credit extended to me. Before I use it, I am able to keep it right?
No, as part of your bankruptcy you MUST deliver all credit cards to your trustee, this is irrespective of any existing balance.
If this credit card is in your name and you have not delivered it to the trustee you must do so immedietly as failure to do so would mean you are in breach of your duties as bankrupt, likely have filled out a fraudulent document that declares you have turned all of your credit cards to your trustee and have none in your possession. Failure to do so immediately may result in you being ineligible for discharge.
