Student Loans
November 20th, 2008 by Questions
I declared bankruptcy 5 years ago and finished school over 8 years ago, paid off one of my student loans however since the bankruptcy I now have a collection agency chasing me for the other one, I should note that I am not discharged either as I have not been able to afford the 1900 dollars to receive the discharge. Does this student loan come after me forever or are there time limitations of any sort?

Typically as long as your student loans are making collection attempts the statute of limitations doesn’t have any impact. It is when the creditors stop collecting and don’t take an active role in the process that limitations rules then become applicable.
