Truck Driver, owing revenue canada
November 13th, 2012 by Questions
I’m an owner/operator, that owns an incorporated company, over the last 4yr, I have ran into some big money problems and now I owe Revenue Canada about 40,000. So my question is this; can my taxes be wiped away and I still keep my truck and business, which is my only job, I need to be incorporated to keep my current job, and my truck is worth about 9000, thanks

Taxes are automatically included when you file for bankruptcy or a consumer proposal. As a “tool” required to earn your living your truck shold be protected, but you’ll need to speak to an Alberta trustee to be sure.
This won’t make you feel any better, but we meet with truck owner operators every week – it is a tough way to make a living financially…
