how an opposition works
September 30th, 2012 by Questions
Your site is amazing and has given me almost all of the information I need in order to make an informed decision. Thank you.
The only thing I haven’t been able to find an answer for is if you get an opposition and go to court. Is your bankruptcy over after nine months still or does it go until after you satisfy the conditions? if it continues after the nine months do you still need to fill out the income and expense forms or are you finished with them and just have to meet the court imposed conditions to finish the bankruptcy?

If you end up in Court all bets are off – the Court has the right to Discharge you immediately or they may set any terms they believe are reasonable for you to comply with before they will grant your Discharge. You should continue to submit, or at the very least prepare, monthly statements of income and expense because the Court has the right to ask to see them (and they almost always ask to see the most recent one…).
