Creditors meeting

I heard that upon filing bankruptcy, there is a creditors meeting. My question is do I have to be present at the creditors meeting?

In most bankruptcies (199 out of 200) the creditors’ meeting is optional and never occurs. In cases where it does occur then yes, the bankrupt is required to attend. Talk to your trustee about this BEFORE you file – it is unlikely you will have a creditors’ meeting…
