You do not have to include your spouse when filing a bankruptcy, consumer proposal or any of the other options that exist to deal with your debt and as long as you spouse hasn’t signed on any of the debts in question there will be no impact on their credit. Marriage and debt are largely separate, the important thing is who signed on those agreements. If you wife singed she may have to consider including herself in your filing, but if not she is not involved.
