Permanent residence

Can we file for Bankruptcy if we are not permanent residents? We have been living in Canada for 10 years but we have to wait until 2012 for our case to be review from Immigration we have 5 kids 4 of them Canadians and we are really strugling with lots of debts rigth now. Thanks

You don’t need to be a permanent resident to file for bankruptcy. As long as you have lived here for greater than 1 year (which it sounds like you have) then you would qualify.

What I would recommend is that you contact a local trustee and they will be able assist you.
