Revenue Canada Wages Garnishment
May 19th, 2010 by Questions
My Husband owes Revenue Canada $26,000 from several years back. Today he found out they were garnishing his wages in the amount of $1000 a month. He only takes home Approx $2500 a month. them taking the $1000 a month will make it impossible for us to pay our bills. Our Rent alone is 1300 a month. That will leave us $200 a month to pay everything else. Will Bankruptcy stop a Revenue Canada Wage Garnishment?

Yes, the filing of a bankruptcy will clear you from any tax owing to Canada Revenue Agency. I would recommend you contact a local trustee as soon as possible.
The reason for this is timing is essential, the bankruptcy must be filed in advance of your husbands next pay day, and there are a few things that need to be done in the process of this filing, so you would be best to proceed as quickly as possible.
