Surplus Income
January 20th, 2010 by Questions
Can you please advise what the deducted amount is for a single mom with one child who doesn`t receive any additonal child support from the ex. Is it still $1875 or would the child will also have an additional deduction amount. I make approxi $2600 take home pay each month. Trying to calculate if I would have to pay the surplus income and how much it may be. Thanks

The surplus income threshold for a 2 person household is $2328. In addition, you may deduct any childcare costs you may have from your net take-home pay before it is compared to the threshold for surplus.
Surplus can be confusing – use the links to find a trustee in your area and give them a call. They wil be able to explain the process in much greater detail.
