Too much debt, too little income, what are my options?

February 26th, 2009 by Questions

I am a student and my mother as well as me are being sued for more than $100,000. She is on welfare and i am a student with no income. I have no assets or anything of value(ex. land, job, jewelry). After the suit if i have to pay an amount i can`t pay what are my options?

This is really gong to depend on your cash flow. Likely you will have few alternatives to a bankruptcy due to the limited income, but that will depend on what a typical month looks like from an income and expense standpoint.

Right now the best thing to do is to contact a local trustee and they will be able to assist in determining what the potential options are.
