If I file for bankruptcy will that nullify my 1 year lease on my rental home? We have put in to quit the lease as its become too expensive but the landlord wont allow it.

You may use a bankruptcy filing to break a lease (be it for a home, a car, whatever…). If you plan on brekaing a residential lease then I suggest you move first, then file. If you file first the landlord will still be entitled for rent during the period from the date of bankruptcy until the day you move. Your life will be simpler if you mve first…
Contact a trustee in your area to discuss all of this first, again, it will make things easier in the long run.
