Can unpaid rent be included in a bankrurtcy ?

Yes, unpaid rent can be included and cleared by filing a bankruptcy anywhere in Canada. While there is a list of debts that cannot be cleared they relate to things like fraud, misappropriation, embezzlement, court fines and penalties etc.. As you can see these are very different from rent.
The only real difficulty with rent is if you are still living in the location the unpaid rent relates to you may have fairly significant difficulties with your landlord. If this is the case you should contact a local trustee to directly discuss the implications this may have on you.
