GST Rebates
September 12th, 2006 by Questions
What happens to my GST rebates when I am in bankruptcy? I just filed my taxes for 2002-2005 and have received all of the refund; however, I am still waiting to receive retro GST rebates from those years. If I receive the rebate(s) in the year of my bankruptcy, will I have to surrender the payments regardless of the year to which they are attributed?

If you filed a bankruptcy you would likely loose a component of these GST Rebates and could potentially loose up to a maximum of $1705. For more information I suggest you contact a licensed trustee in your area and he will be able to clarify this.
