Claiming my own bankruptcy
September 15th, 2006 by Questions
If my spouse has already claimed bankruptcy, would I still be able to claim my own bankruptcy?
Can I claim my student loan in bankruptcy and keep a good standing credit card to redeem my credit score?

You are asking two questions. First, yes, if your spouse has claimed bankruptcy, you can also claim bankruptcy on your own.
Second, your student loan will only be automatically discharged in a bankruptcy if it is more than ten years old. More information can be found at http://www.student-loan-bankruptcy.ca.
