Credit Card

I have both my credit cards maxed out and 3 lines of credit to a total of 150,000. When you file for bankruptcy who looks after these bills? I have been getting phone calls everyday. Also how long does the process take when you file for bankruptcy to restart your credit rating?

This is difficult to answer as it is highly dependent on your current financial circumstances. The only thing I can say is that one secured credit card will not be enough as it will only lodge 1 positive comment with the credit bureau.

What you need to do to rebuild as quickly as possible is look at getting a couple other smal loans (i.e. $500 or so), repay them and replicate.

This way you will be able to get a number of positive comments and therefore rebuild your credit more quickly. By doing this I have seen many people rebuild completely withing 2 years after their discharge.
