Trustee Fees
December 6th, 2005 by Questions
I’m making a proposal for approximately $20,000 to my creditors, which represents about 25% of my debt. The trustee fee is going to be 8,500 on top of this amount. This seems high to me considering there’s nothing complicated about my situation. Is this an average fee?
Thanks.

The way fees are calculated for a consumer proposal is legislated. Based on the figures you provided I have estimated the cost would come to approximately $5800.00. If you are being quoted a different amount I suggest reviewing the calculation with the trustee of contacting a different trustee for a quote (see “Find a Trustee” on the left hand of the page).
