Back Taxes & GST owing to Revenue Canada

December 13th, 2005 by Questions

Will the bankruptcy timetable (usually 9 months) be extended indefinitely if monies are owed to Revenue Canada for back taxes and GST? I understood that Revenue Canada will never forgive or write off monies owing?

Amounts owing to Revenue Canada are included in a bankruptcy. Excessive debts to Revenue Canada may result in a longer bankruptcy period. I suggest you contact a licensed trustee to determine how your tax debts would impact on a bankruptcy.
