Bankruptcy and Traffic Fines

I am currently carrying a decent debt load, but the real problem is my driving fines(all from driving under suspension). I have sought resolution with the court but have had no real progress. I am told to pay a good amount up front. I simply cannot. I cannot drive to work (now living in rural area ) legally to make money to pay my fines or make a substantial down payment. I am caught in a downward spiral as I am not getting any younger and need to resolve this measure. If I am to declare bankruptcy, what will that do in regards to driving status?

Unfortunately driving fines are something that are not released under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. The only thing that a Trustee’s office may be able to do is utilize the proposal legislation to allow you to pay your fines in full, but stretch the payments out over a 3 to 5 year period. If you click on the “contact and expert” link, you will be directed to a Trustee in your local area who will be able to examine all the specifics of your situation and help to determine if this will be plausable in your situation.
