credit reports after bankruptcy discharge
September 6th, 2005 by Questions
Once I was discharged, I noted on my credit reports that the balance amount owed to each of the creditors was still on my report. Isn’t that amount supposed to be changed to 0 – although the companies can still say it was a bad debt?

Typically the amount is reset to 0 and there will be a rating of R-9 listed in conjunction with that particular debt. To me it sounds like the credit bureau has made a mistake and it will be necessary for you to contact them and perhaps re-submit a copy of your discharge certificate for their records.
