icbc debt

I have a 50,000. debt with icbc for an accident they paid out on. I cant pay it
can i file for bankruptcy and if i successfully did. Could I get my driverlicence back and get car insurance or would icbc still act like I had that debt with them help.

Last I heard is that ICBC was refusing to give licenses & insurance until the debt was paid in full, even if you file for bankruptcy. Having said that I practice in Alberta and am not as familiar with the specific practices in BC therefore I recommend clicking on the Find an Expert link and contacting a trustee in your local area.
