I am currently finding it difficult to keep up with my credit card bills. If they go to collections and I still have problems repaying can the take legal actions against me?

Certainly, in fact the usual sequence of events when a person stops making their payments is to send the debt to a collection agency first and then to take legal action. If you’ve only got the one debt then ask the colection agency for payment terms – they may even forgive the interest. If you’ve got a bunch of debts then you may want to use the links on this page to contact a trustee to discuss your options.
