Bondable?

May 11th, 2011 by Questions

I have no outstanding debts at present (i.e. all debts settled/paid), but have settled debts that appear on my credit report as ‘derogatory’ (R9).

Does such a credit history prevent me from being ‘bondable’?

Thank you.

Probably not, but you really need to ask the bonding company that your employer uses.

Just so you know, most companies don’t actually “bond” their employees. On their applications they ask if you are “bondable” as a backwards way of finding out if you are an undischarged bankrupt or have a criminal record (undischarged bankrupts and persons with criminal records are not usually bondable).
