creditor enquiry

December 20th, 2007 by Questions

I pulled my credit report with both TransUnion and Equifax and I noticed there were several creditors (eg. MBNA, Capital One…), who had entered my credit report to do some enquiry. By doing so, I believe I loose credit score everytime they have enquiry in there. How do I stop them? Please show me. Thank you.

For a lending company to check your credit they must obtain your permission. So the easy answer is stop iving them permission.

Now if you have current loans with them they may already have this permission and there is nothing you can do, but if you don’t have any loans with them the only reason I can see they would check your credit is if you were applying for a loan. If this is the case, stop applying for credit and their inquiries will no longer be made.
