Furnace and AC

In the spring I installed a brand new furnace and AC. It is on a rental agreement with National Home Services. Could I change the rental over to purchase and include that in my consumer proposal?

If you don’t pay for the units they will remove them. If you switch to a purchase arrangement they will likley register a lien on the items which makes it a secured debt and therefore it will be excluded from your proposal. If they don’t register a lien they would argue that the units are attached to your house and therefore a fixture and they still need to be paid or they can remove them. You’re stuck with this one…
