Consumer proposal cost

May 27th, 2011 by Questions

What is the average charge for a consumer proposal, I just went through the pre work and a charge of $1500.00 would need to be paid ahead of time before the trustee is contacted……is this an average fee for my area!

You don’t need to see anyone before you speak to a trustee – you certainly do NOT need to pay them a $1500.

Do a search on the internet or go to your local phone book and look up “bankruptcy trustees”. Call one directly and then go and see them – they will assist you with the application process and then handle your proposal.

There should not be any up-front fees. If someone asks you for an up-front fee then go and speak to some one else!
