How long will I have an R9 rating

September 3rd, 2009 by Questions

How long will an R9 rating remain on my credit rating after a consumer proposal. Will it extend beyond 3 years? I`m 49 years old and $25,000 in credit card and line of credit debts. I`m hoping to buy a house after the 3 years.

A consumer proposal results in an R7 that is listed with the credit bureau for 3 years from the date the proposal is finished. So you wouldn’t have a rating as severe as R9 but there is definitely a a negative impact on your credit.
