Wondering if I can put my mortgage in someone else`s name before doing a consumer proposal?

I don’t know why you would want to put your mortgage in someone else’s name prior to filing a consumer proposal. A consumer proposal is directed at unsecured creditors not secured creditors so it really doesn’t have any impact on your secured creditors.

In addition when you start transferring things around just prior to the filing of either a bankruptcy or a consumer proposal it can appear to the creditors that you are trying to do something inappropriate to defeat their rights. As such it is much better to simply leave things the way they currently are.
