What to do? – I`m on E.I.
March 23rd, 2009 by Questions
Currently I am on E.I. I have a drawer full of unopened letters from collection agencies. This is stressing me out. I am at the end of my rope. They keep calling my parents number as I changed mine. I have outstanding lines of credit, credit cards around $15,000. And a old student loan (past ten years old), which they (Gov) take my GST`s and tax refunds. I am single with a 20 yr old son that lives with me goes to University and works part-time. I don`t know what to do anymore.

You’ve taken the first step by asking some questions – what I think you should do now is go and see someone in person. It may be a credit counselor, a financial advisor or a trustee in bankruptcy. You need to spend 30 minutes to an hour with some one knoweldgeable in this area so that they can give you some specific suggestions on how to deal with your situation.
None of this is easy, but the hardest part is deciding to ask for help. Once you speak to some one you will start to feel better – you won’t be happy about your situation, but at least you’ll have options and can form a plan to deal with your debts.
