Proposal and Car Lease

November 30th, 2008 by Questions

I have a lease for my car and now unable to continue paying full amount. How does a consumer proposal affect my lease? I do not want to loose the car.

Well, the only way to change your lease payments is to renegotiate with the leasing company. If you file a consumer proposal you have the right to keep the car as long as yuo are curent with your lease payments and you remain current through out the proposal.

Contact a trustee in your area and give them a call – they can explain this in greater detail and help you sort out your options.
