My question is about bankruptcy when you have mortgage. My question is very simple. I just want to know when you have a mortgage with the same bank you have a debt on a Line of Credit and one credit card? I am paying my mortgage through another bank, can I close that checking account I have with the bank that has my mortgage? I don’t need that checking account any more. Thanks

Yes, you may – in fact, that is what we recommend our clients do. The safest way to proceed is to have you paycheque and any other income you receive processed through a bank that is not in anyway included/listed in your bankruptcy or a proposal.
