Bankruptcy from outside Canada

I got to the point while living in Canada that meant I was bankrupt, ie NO money, my business had failed and I had exhausted all my resources and am in debt so I left Canada.
Can I still file for bankruptcy in Canada?

You can still file for bankruptcy in Canada, but only if have resided in Canada within the last 12 months, or if you currently own property in Canada.
